Cerveny Conference Center

Located at Camp Weed, the Cerveny Center has its roots as far back as the 1920's. Started in 1924 by the Episcopal Diocese of Florida, Camp Weed is named in honor of Rev. Edwin Garner Weed. Locations for the camp varied through the years, from Panama City to the bay at Beacon Beach. By 1940, over 400 people came to Camp Weed every summer.

In 1976, the Episcopal Diocese of Florida acquired 500 acres near Live Oak, FL to locate its youth camp and adult conference center in the middle of the North Florida Diocese. It was in 1990 that the adult conference center was named The Cerveny Conference Center by the delegates at Diocesan convention. It was their way of honoring Bishop Frank Stanley Cerveny, the sixth bishop of Florida, for his vision to develop a place for young people and adults to grow together in their life’s journey.

Mandi's Chapel, completed in 1995, is the signature building of Camp Weed and was a gift from the Petway family, in memory of their young daughter.

One of the greatest assets of Camp Weed and the Cerveny Center is its staff. Well trained, highly professional, hard-working, and friendly, they are the key to smooth operations and will take care of all your needs. People of all faiths and all walks of life are welcome at the Center and clients range from universities to banks, corporate institutions and government associations. Banquets and weddings are also special treats at the Center. Visit them soon.
